Over the past few years, popular TTRPG accessory creator WizKids has released an entire line of high end D&D trophy plaques, with everything from a mounted Beholder to a life-sized Owlbear head. These plaques, however, tend to be a little on the pricey side, running upwards of $500 USD.
WizKids, however, has just introduced a much more affordable option with their new smaller format D&D Red Dragon Trophy Plaque. While about half the size of older versions, they’re still a high end product and are inspired from new D&D 2024 artwork. Below we take a closer look at these updated draconic designs.

What is the new Red Dragon Trophy Plaque?
The new red dragon plaques are hand painted and sculpted from a mix of poly-foam and latex. Each head is 12″ in size and weighs about 7 lbs. (for context WizKids’ previous large format Red Dragon Head was about 24″ in height and weighed around 14 lbs.). Notably, the smaller format head includes hardware so you can mount it on your wall and the design itself is based on the new D&D red dragon featured in the 2024 Monster Manual (which was slightly retooled from its 2014 counterpart).
Each plaque retails for $249.99 USD (again, for context, the previous large format Red Dragon Head retailed for around $470.99 USD). They’re available for pre-order now but will be available through the WizKids websites and some local game stores in early 2026.

Final Thoughts
The previous monster trophy plaques released from WizKids were incredibly stunning but also more than a little on the pricey side. These new smaller format designs look like a solid option for fans looking to get their own mounted dragon head without having to fork over an entire hoard.
You can pre-order yours now from the WizKids website.
